As a consequence, my ability to function in this world improves when my concepts align with how the world works. How the world responds to me is evidence of that alignment.
It also creates inner stability when those connections and perceptions reveal the order in the apparent chaos of life. There is an intimate kind of pleasure in creating concepts that reflect the way the Creation works. It is way of getting closer to the Creator by getting closer to His Creation.
But not too close to the Creation! Don't be the honey-bee that drowns in the honey pot.
